RepoOps · governed repository effects

Govern the path from software intent to canonical repository effect.

RepoOps is Baranes's first concrete domain for repository effects. It separates planning and candidate engineering from the point where a change becomes an accepted repository effect.

Model

A lifecycle and an execution engine are not the same thing.

SDD governs feature state and expected behaviour. RepoOps governs structured repository operations and the candidate-to-canonical effect boundary.

SEED / INTAKE ↓ DESIGN → SPEC → VALIDATION → TASKS ↓ BOUNDED IMPLEMENTATION WORKSPACE ↓ SEALED CANDIDATE ↓ REPOOPS GOVERNED ADOPTION ↓ VERIFY → AUDIT → ARCHIVED
Durable job envelopeRepository, operation, scope, identity and bounded arguments travel as structured state.
Candidate boundaryEngineering can iterate without silently becoming canonical repository state.
Governed adoptionThe exact candidate is adopted through an explicit effect transaction; commit is separate from publication.
Terminal evidenceVerification, audit and closure preserve what happened and why it was accepted.

Implemented RepoOps mechanisms

Existing implementation evidence covers durable jobs, runner/execution-role patterns, SDD artifact operations, verification and bounded execution mechanisms. They are not presented here as one complete deployed product.

Unified governed adoption model

The full end-to-end flow shown in the Atlas remains a target cognitive architecture and must not be read as a claim that every component is deployed today.

Technical depth

The public RepoOps Atlas contains lifecycle phases, persistent artifacts, a role-level execution surface, runner, governance primitives, identity trace and clickable technical explanations.

Foundation

Spec before effect.

SDD Framework makes feature lifecycle and validation gates explicit before repository execution.
